"I am the Bad dog. While I look cute and attentive I am just figuring out how I can steal the kleenex from your purse!"

Just goes to show that even bad dogs can be trained.

Ben Jamin Bear with Panda Jean Bear

Ben Jamin Bear is a rescued dog- who knows what he has in there?! Dr. Colleen went to a behavior seminar where shelter animals were brought in for the vets to work with. "Parker," as he was called by the the shelter personnel, found a sucker. Every chance he could, he would flop into her lap and love on her.
She resisted his attempts to weasel into her heart- he is such a wonderful dog, surely he would be adopted.

Dr. Colleen headed home with no new puppy. This guy tugs on her heart strings though and she tracks down the shelter to find out "his story". He was brought into the shelter over 1 1/2 months ago with his two yellow lab-looking sisters. They were adopted quickly- apparently nobody wants to adopt black dogs. He is big- and has all his adult teeth- more strikes- everyone wants a young puppy. Still not adopted after several adoption parties. Dr Colleen can't take it anymore and brings him home for Thanksgiving!
Ben has the perfect temperament- he is loveable and too smart for his own good. A voracious chewer, he brags that he can skin a tennis ball in less than 5 minutes.  His goal is to become a certified therapy dog and go into nursing homes and hospitals to help make people feel better.

Ben says,"That is not a muzzle on my nose- it is a gentle_leader. A wonderful training head collar."
