Services

Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, we stress the importance of twice a year check ups- remember that one of our years is equal to 7 of their years! Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems. We offer a wide range of veterinary services to keep your companions feeling their best:

Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services:  Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets' complete health care needs.  We provide innovative care through the use of ECG, laser surgery, radiography and dental radiography, ultrasonography, photon therapy, and in-house blood analyzers.

Surgical Services:  Our state-of-the-art surgical suite provides for the performance of a wide variety of surgical procedures including ovariohysterectomy (spay), castration (neuter), declaw, hernia repair, ear trim, lumpectomy, and eye tack to name a few.  Please visit our Surgical FAQ's page for additional information.

Anesthesia:  We utilize the safest available anesthetics to provide an extra margin of safety, especially for our older or high-risk patients. Using the most modern equipment, the patient's vital signs are monitored during all anesthetic procedures by a certified veterinary technician.

Radiology Services:  Our on-site, modern X-ray equipment provides high quality radiographs to aid in the quick diagnosis of many disorders.  Our staff is qualified to perform contrast radiographs and OFA certification films.

Electrocardiography Services:  We provide ECG services on-site as well as consultations with cardiology specialists.

Dentistry:  Our dental services include teeth cleaning and polishing, dental X-rays, tooth extractions and minor oral surgery.

Laboratory:  Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for serum chemistry, hematology, serology, urinalysis and parasite testing. We also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations.

Permanent identification: We offer microchip identification.  We use the Avid Friend Chip system to implant a small chip underneath your pet's skin via injection.  The chip contains a frequency which can be read by any universal scanner located in veterinary clinics, animal control centers and shelters around the county.  A microchip ensures your pet will find his way home.

Pharmacy:  We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos, flea and tick control products and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet. We also carry a full line of prescription diets. Any thing that you might need that we don't have we can special order.

Individualized Flea Control Programs:  We develop programs for the specific needs of your pet and your own particular environmental situation. We will review with you the best ways to control fleas in your house, in your yard and on your pet.  Check out this product comparison chart from our pet library.

Parasitology: We offer heartworm testing and fecal analysis to ensure your pet is parasite free.  We recommend an annual heartworm test (via blood draw) and once a month heartworm prevention (oral medication) to prevent heartworm disease. The monthly heartworm prevention also protects your pet against intestinal parasites

Dietary Counseling:  We will provide guidance regarding your pet's nutritional needs for each life stage, including dietary requirements for growth, weight maintenance and performance.

Behavioral Counseling:  We can provide advice regarding the correction of problems such as excessive barking, chewing, spraying, scratching, digging, house soiling and aggression.  Dr. Colleen Koch is a member of the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior and is a Karen Pryor Certified Training Partner.  We believe in positive training methods.  Please look at our Behavior Brochure for specific services and our Behavior Page for information on our methods.

Boarding:  We provide pet boarding as a service to our clients. All boarders receive personal attention from our caring staff. Pets may be dropped off and picked up during regular business hours Monday through Saturday.

Bathing:  Routine and therapeutic bathing services are available.
