  • Heartworm Society    Everything you ever wanted to know about heartworm disease can be found here!
  • What to do with orphaned animals This is the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine's Wild Life Ward link. They you will find out what they recommend for orphaned animals.
  • Pet Wellness Center  It has rebates for  Novartis products bought at the veterinary hospital. It also has a lot of information about wellness.
  • National Animal Poison Control Center - This is the website of the National Animal Poison Control Center. It includes a library, links to other sites, and phone numbers for the poison control center.
  • Plants Toxic to Animals, Introduction -- Vet Med Library, UIUC - A lot of information about toxic plants can be found here. You can search under common name or scientific name of the plant.
  • Cornell University -Plants toxic to livestock- Another wonderful site to help identify poisonous plants.

  • Liam J. Perk Foundation- Liam's parents took a tragedy and have created a site to help other parents avoid suffering a similar tragedy. If you are a parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, neighbor, or friend it is important to understand what your dog or someone else's dog is saying. It doesn't matter if you have owned dogs for 50 years or 5 we(humans) are notorious for missing subtle body language.  Please keep everyone safe and become familiar with this website.
  • Doggone Safe-  Just what is says.  This site is dedicated to dog bite prevention.  We all would like to think that our dogs would never bite.  Even humans have bad days and are grumpy and take it out on others - sometimes dogs do too.
